Great job to Miss Marci and her students from Freedom Academy. Eight great young artists, ages 4 and up, worked with a warm color palette to create this beautiful piece of art. 

Summer Starfish

This summer I received one of the best text messages possible. Madison Allen long time art student and now friend, asked me to look at the starfish painting she was working on. It was a wow and proud moment for me as an art instructor. 

Sitting in her room at her easel she had taken her ten years of art lessons and understanding of painting, color and design to express herself and create something really beautiful. 

Now a junior in college, it's a blessing to see Madison confidently apply paint to canvas to make our world a more beautiful place. 

On Going Art Schedule

A wonderful new season of art has begun. This season we will create beautiful works that showcase the Natural World, Space and Science Fiction, Human Form and much more.  As always, artists will compete in several competitions and exhibition activities. Below is a list of class days and times.

Monday, "Little's" Class 
Average ages 4-6. This class is perfect for little ones, giving them an introduction to art basics. Ceramics, paper, painting, etc.
3:30-5:00    $70 four classes a month

Monday, Mixed Media Class 
Average age 7-10  Artists learn art basics through projects using a variety of media. Ceramic sculpting, painting on canvas, paper and a variety of other materials.
5:30-7:00      $70 four classes a month

Tuesday, Mixed Media Class 
Average age 7-10  Artists learn art basics through projects using a variety of media. Ceramic sculpting, painting on canvas, paper and a variety of other materials.

Hello, everyone! How has your May been going? It's been an extremely busy month here at the D.S. Arts studio, as we have been tying up loose ends before Gallery Night, which is on Friday, May 29th. 

I'd like to give you an idea of what will be shown at Gallery Night, so I'm going to give you a sneak-peek at a few of the peices you will see there.

We are also creating a video about this season that will premiere at the show as well.

End of The Season

Hi, everyone. Sorry for the lack of regular posts! We've been pretty busy over at the studio lately! As you may know, gallery  night is coming up on May 29th. It will be at Del Rio Country Club from 6:30-9:30 PM. Feel free to stop by! 

This year's theme is "A Moment In Time" which goes with the steampunk influence we've had this season. If you are coming to gallery, please wear white.

Right now, we are working in the centerpeice, which is this steampunk style clock/house. 

We are planning on installing a click to the top front window.

We actually made a house several years ago for gallery. That one had more of a fairy garden theme.

There are lots of works in progress as well, but I will save those for you to see at Gallery Night! Don't miss it! :)
