Private Art Lessons -Instruction by Debi Smerdon

Each individual one hour lesson is designed to teach basic color theory, brush techniques and application of paint on canvas. Whether your child is just starting out in art, or they currently attend art classes, private lessons give me an opportunity to introduce specific art basics and fine tune the skills they have. Young artists will apply what they learn to create a beautiful piece of art.  Large canvas and all supplies included. $150

Ages 7 and up

“Paint Your Pet”-  by Debi Smerdon

This class will introduce young artists to projecting an image onto canvas, then painting it with accuracy to achieve the most realistic version of their pet.  Artists will work with acrylic paint on canvas in a real life studio setting using professional supplies. Canvas, paint and other necessary supplies all included.  Thursday classes.

“Through the Looking Glass”-  by John Smerdon-

John will use this class to introduce students to his whimsical approach of creating artwork that represents more abstract art themes and color. Artists will learn basic sketch, layout and paint application techniques. They will then apply their illustrations onto a canvas and paint for a colorful and unique piece of artwork. Large canvas and all supplies included. Monday/Wednesday classes.   Ages 12 and up

“Art Blast” -  by Debi Smerdon

New projects for summer make this class extra fun.  Young artists will have a hands-on opportunity to work with different media including clay, paint and paper. Artists will make unique artwork while learning important art basics. All supplies included.  Tuesday/Thursday classes.   Ages 7 and up

Whimsical Clay Sculpting -  by John Smerdon

This three session ceramic class will give young artists an opportunity to create a unique ceramic art piece that will be detailed and embellished with wire, glass beads and other media to achieve an interesting effect. Students will work with two different types of clay and beautiful ceramic glazes.  All supplies and firing included. Monday/Thursday classes.   Ages 12 and up

July 11, 18 21  $80 (3 ninety minute classes)  4:00-5:30 

“Cupcake Decorating” – by Cooking with M.E.

This July, DS Arts is honored to present Megan Earls, “Chef in Baking & Patisserie” from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts to kick off her new cooking series this summer.  Megan will offer two different ninety minute classes that will introduce young artists to the art of cupcake decorating. Students will work with pastry bags and buttercream frosting to make delicious and beautiful edible works of art. All supplies included.  $50 per student. Adult Art Classes

Adult Ceramics-This class is perfect for all skill levels of adults interested in learning to work with clay.  Students will design and create a 3-D relief plaque using different textures, techniques and color glazes that will result in a beautiful piece of ceramic artwork. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, relax and create. Supplies included.    

Tuesday, June 7, 14, 21, 28  $120 (4 classes)  10:00-11:30 am

Adult Painting-This ongoing class is perfect for all skill levels of artists interested in painting on canvas. Artists will work with a chosen subject theme to create a beautiful piece of artwork. Instruction will address color, brush techniques and individual coaching to achieve the best results. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, relax and create. Supplies included.
